J Crew one. OK ok....maybe slightly MORE happy in a Philip Lim. But nonetheless, I would still be able to rock out in a non designer label with the right cuff or necklace. Not to mention the right HANDBAG or SHOES!! 2009 will definitely be a time for rebuilding. As we go thru this transition it is important to remember individual style and making a statement..all while having fun! While we tend to be inspired by what we see on young starlets, don't forget to throw in your own unique element of style. Ingenues like Kate Moss, Mary Kate, Lou Dillon and Chloe Sevigny are considered fashion darlings because they are unafraid to take risk and make a statement rather than following a statement. Mix and matching what's new with what's old and unlabeled is an easy way to to be chic. Another surefire way to be chic is to have one thing about you that stands out and everyone thinking "where did she get that!!??". For me its usually a piece of jewelry or a vintage dress. Rules to remember, whatever it is, it has to FIT. Anything overwhelming and sloppy is NOT chic. Anything too tight or revealing is NOT sexy, its trashy. Anything that doesn't feel quite right, usually isn't. Comfort and confidence is another important element of style. Don't be fooled into incredibly uncomfortable trends....they never last.
Kudos to the Kates who seem to always get it right!
