Quite the project on Mulberry....

Finally checked out the new cocktail bar Mulberry Project in Nolita. Truly too cool for school with no sign and NO cocktail menu! Go down the unmarked stairs and enter into a chic intimate space that is great for a date or meeting up with a few friends who are in a creative state of mind. It may take more than one try to get the perfect cocktail, so be patient. The bartender will be happy to make you another drink if you don't like what is served, but get ready for an annoyed smirky face! Guess they really take pride in every drink they make. Not sure if this is a smart business plan considering how much alcohol and fruit is wasted throughout the night from rejected drinks! My first one was gross! I wanted something a bit citrusy and spicy with vodka. Ended up getting a smokey salsa-esque fruity concoction. Not what I had in mind.

If you're bored of the standard "vodka and soda" and want to mix it up a bit you will definitely have A LOT to choose from here. The list of ingredients is quite long with exotic fruits like lychee, starfruit, papaya and mango to mint, chipotle pepper and ginger.  You choose the fruit, the spirit and the garnish. My favorite drink of the night consisted of watermelon, cucumber, mint and vodka. Quite yummy and refreshing! However, I wouldn't call this my favorite bar in the city but definitely worth a try. Drinks are about $14. The garden in the back room is RSVP only. Also keep in mind the space is small so a large group is not a good idea.
